Quintin Harvey Walker, Sr., 59, of 533 Roxbury Street in Clifton Forge died Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at Lewis Gale -Montgomery Hospital in Blacksburg.
Mr. Walker was born January 4, 1962, in Clifton Forge, a son of the late Sterling H. and Dorothy Vest Walker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Anita Fagg; two grandchildren, Daniel Walker and Emma Walker and an infant brother and infant sister.
He was a truck driver for all his life, he worked Garten Trucking and was an avid classic car enthusiast. He was member of Clifton Forge Baptist Church where he served a deacon.

Kevin Clay Rickett, Sr., 66, of Covington, died Friday, June 4, 2021, at Piedmont Hospice Center in Charlottesville.
Mr. Rickett was born May 5, 1955 in Covington, a son of the late Robert and Margaret Turk Rickett.
Kevin retired from the Army as a Sgt 1st class. In recent years he had been employed at the Omni Homestead as a Houseman.
Surviving are two sons, Kevin Rickett Jr. and his wife Skye of Covington, and Tyler Rickett of Fort Benning, GA; a daughter, Shannon Simnick and her husband Nick of Clayton, OH; and seven grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for a late date....

The family of Kolin Howard Bennett, 56, of Covington, is saddened to announce his death on June 3, 2021 after a history of complex illnesses. Kolin was born to Marion "Dick" and Clara Bennett on October 17, 1964 in Clifton Forge, Virginia. He was born just minutes before his identical twin brother, Kyle, and never let him forget he was older. Kolin graduated from Alleghany County High School in 1983 and graduated from Jefferson College of Health Sciences, later specializing in psychiatry. Kolin had a long career with the Covington Rescue Squad which he loved, leading him to choose a path in the medical field. Kolin also previously worked for Standard Printing and the Virginian Review. Kolin was preceeded in death by his father, Marion "Dick" Bennett, his paternal grandparents Robert and Nellie Bennett and his maternal grandparents Howard and Luevena Simmons. Louella Bright Boone Porterfield, 94, of 3311 Dunlap Creek Road died Tuesday, June 1, 2021, in Alleghany Health and Rehab Center in Clifton Forge. Mrs. Porterfield was born April 20, 1927, in Greenbrier County, WV, a daughter of the late Silas and Eva Judy Boone. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her Husband, William Haskell Porterfield, in 1999, a Son, Wayne Porterfield in 2020, and a Brother, Howard Boone. She was an employee of the former Industrial Rayon plant in Covington. She was a member of the Dunlap Fire and Rescue and the Ladies Auxiliary for over40 years. She was a poll worker at elections for 40 years and was an avid Bingo player. Glenden Lewis "Glen" Comer, 82, of Covington, died, Friday, May 28, 2021, at his home. Mr. Comer was born November 27, 1938, at Wikel, WV, a son of the late Welch and Grace Cooke Comer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Wife, Arlene Goodin Comer, in 2013, and his brother, Bennie Comer. He retired from the United States Army. He retired in 2001 from MeadWestvaco as a welder after 36 years with the company. He was a member of Covington Moose Lodge #610, Callaghan Ruritan Club and a former member of the Dunlap Fire Department and Rescue Squad. He was an avid fan of classic cars. John Wayne Smith, 70, of 2721 Vassar St., Low Moor, died, Sunday May 23, 2021 at his residence. Mr. Smith was born July 4, 1950 in Alleghany County a son of the late Floyd E. Smith Sr. and Gladys Brown Collins. He was a self-employed truck driver. He was a member of the Curtis A. Smith Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1033. He served two tours in Vietnam in the United States Army receiving two Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart. He was a Blue Blood American as well as an avid car lover and loved his 2017 yellow Dodge Challenger R/T. In keeping with his wishes, he body has been cremated. Antony Edward Jalink Sr., 56, of 428 Brentwood Dr, died, Tuesday May 18, 2021 at his residence. He was born May 3, 1965 in Newport News a son of Rosie Pugh Evans and the late Antony Jalink. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Rosemary Jalink in 2015. He was an Electrical Engineer with BSU Inc. in Ithaca, NY. He was a member of Kars Unlimited and the Corvette Club, enjoyed watching is favorite driver Jimmy Johnson in NASCAR as well as working with computers and going fishing.
