Debbie S. Humphries, 69, of 2406 Dressler Drive, Covington, passed away from a long battle with dementia on March 26, 2021 at the Brian Center in Low Moor. Mrs. Humphries was born April 16, 1951 in Alleghany County, a daughter of the late John and Mary Williams Seldomridge. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law Roscoe E. Humphries and Mickey S. Humphries. Debbie was retired as a bank teller in 2007 after 37 years having worked for the former Covington National Bank then First Virginia Bank in Covington. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She loved traveling, especially to the beach, and spending time with her beloved dog, Snickers. Surviving are her husband of 46 years, Roscoe R. Humphries, of Covington; three brothers, Rickey Seldomridge and wife Janet, Tony Seldomridge and Danny Seldomridge, a special thanks to nurses Regina and Lorie of Heartland Hospice of Roanoke and her caregivers Debbie Persinger and Sue Kirk. Jessie Franklin Morris, loving and devoted husband and father, passed away at the age of 88, at his home in Covington, Va. His faith, love, and commitment to The Lord was his guiding light throughout his life and it brought him comfort in his final hours. His kind and compassionate spirit will always be remembered by his family and friends. He was born to Emmett R. Morris and Josephine Tyree Morris in 1932 in Iron Gate, Va. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters. He was the last surviving member of his family. Jessie enlisted in the 227th Army National Guard, in Covington, Va. in June 1950 at 18 years old. He was honorably discharged in 1952 and immediately reported for active duty in the United States Army and served at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri. Jessie served at Fort Wood until 1953 when he was honorably discharged to return to Covington to assist his family during a time of hardship. He remained in the Army Reserve from 1953-1957. He w...

Mr. Maready was born July 9, 1982 in Kenansville, NC a son of late Steven Carl Maready I and Connie Reynolds Bouchard of Clifton Forge. Surviving in addition to his mother is his wife Lynette Booze Maready, two daughters Nevaeh Maready and Jasmyn Maready all of Clifton Forge, one brother Tony Maready of Lexington, one sister Maria Maready of Marion, paternal grandmother Ruth Maready of Chinquapin, NC, and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Richard Franklin Tingler, 32, of Salem, formerly Covington, died, Monday, March 22, 2021. Mr. Tingler was born April 7, 1988, in Roanoke the son of Malinda S. Aliff of Roanoke and Richard E. Tingler and friend Laura Wilson of Covington. Surviving in addition to his parents are his wife, Trysta Holland Tingler, of Salem; his son, Damien Tingler, of MD, his brother, Ben Drewry, of Roanoke, two step sons Jacob and Steven; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A graveside service will be held Saturday, March 27, 2021, at 1:00 PM in Lone Star Cemetery with the Rev. Pam Irvine officiating. Kenneth Richard Lane, 74 of Covington, Va, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, Sunday March 21, 2021, at Augusta Health in Fishersville, Va. Kenny fought a long hard battle, but eventually succumbed to the disease vasculitis. Kenny was born April 16, 1946 in Cannellton, WV. He graduated Richwood High School in Richwood WV in 1964. He was preceded in death by his parents William Richard and Mary Katherine Lane, and two brothers and one sister. Kenny is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 54 years Sue, his son Rob and wife Stephanie of Staunton Va, two precious granddaughters Emma and Sara, two special nephews Mike and Tim Green of Covington, a special cousin Joe Pritt of Summersville, WV, a brother and sister, and numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins. Gerald Lloyd Sizemore Sr., 88 of 824 Pocahontas Ave., passed away, March 17, 2021 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Mr. Sizemore was born November 10, 1932 in Virginia a son of the late Aulden C. and Izora Sizemore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Cleva Gibson Sizemore in 2015, a daughter Carol Arrington, two brothers Donald Sizemore Sr. and Ryland Sizemore,three half-sisters Shelby Broughman, Linda Stevens, and Susie Cobb. Gerald was a retired brakeman for the C&O Railroad and a member of Covington Bible Church. Joey (Joe) Lee Campbell, 67, of 714 N. Greenbrier Ave., died, Saturday March 13, 2021 at Southside Medical Center in Petersburg. He was born June 18, 1953 in Alleghany County, the son of the late George F. and Margret Thompson Campbell. He is survived by a sister Becky Brown of Natural Bridge, a nephew Billy Hinkle Jr. of Covington, that was so special to Joe and a niece Beth Brown of Natural Bridge, a daughter Melanie Hosey Of Covington and two grandchildren Samantha Hosey and Michael Hosey. Joe spent many years living with Gene and Susie Thompson. There he met Alisia Thompson and they became best friends, A bond that was broken only by Joe's passing. Norman Earnway Kimberlin, Jr., 74, of 1002 Hattie Street died Friday, March 5, 2021, at his home. Mr. Kimberlin was born June 29, 1946, in Alleghany County a son of the late Norman E. Kimberlin, Sr., and Celia Wolfe Kimberlin Terry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert L. Kimberlin and Coyd W. Kimberlin, and a daughter-in-law, Lily Lipscomb Kimberlin. Norman was a veteran of the United States Army serving the majority of his active duty in Germany.
