Gordon Ralph Hosey, 49, of 2028 S. Arden Ave., died Monday, December 21, 2020, at Lewis Gale- Alleghany Hospital in Low Moor. Mr. Hosey was born September 17, 1971, in Covington, a son of Martha Ann Sorbara Hosey of Covington, and the late Larry E. Hosey Sr. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother Larry E. Hosey Jr. He was employed at Bacova Guild. He was also a member of the Living Word Assembly of God. Surviving are his wife, Bertha Bowen Hosey, a daughter, Stephanie McCummings and husband, Ronnie, a son, Stephen Hosey, two grandchildren Alaric McCummings and Sophie Hosey, his fishing buddy Richard Caldwell and a good friend Glenn Hiner, all of Covington. A graveside service will be held Sunday, December 27, 2020, at 2:00PM in the Lone Star Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Tremblay officiating. Friends and family may call at the home at any time. Meredith Littleton "Bugs" Jennings, Jr., 74, of Jackson River Road died Friday, December 18, 2020, at his daughter's residence. Mr. Jennings was born August 2, 1946, in Covington, a son of the late Meredith L. Jennings, Sr. and Betty Arrington Fitzgerald. Meredith was a veteran of the VietNam War serving two tours with the Seabees in the United States Navy. He retired as a Team Leader on the #5 & #8 paper machines at MeadWestvaco. He was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association and loved riding his Harley Trike with his friends. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church and a former member of Good News Church. Brenda Hosey Craft, 74, of 1401 Donovan Street in Selma died Monday, December 14, 2020, in the Brian Center Nursing Home at LowMoor. Mrs. Craft was born April 29, 1946, in Bath County a daughter of the late Richard C. Hosey and Mary Jackson Hosey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard "Dickie" West, and five brothers. She was a CNA for many years and was a former employee of the Omni Homestead Resort. She was a member of Midway Christian Church. Charlotte Vint Martin, 84, of Clifton Forge, died, Sunday, December 6, 2020 in Lewis Gale Salem Medical Center. Mrs. Martin was born March 16, 1936 in Alleghany Co. the daughter of the late Norman J. Vint and Pauline Knighton Vint Hall. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Hobert H. "Jack" Martin in 2004, and a son James Kitt in 2019. Surviving are four daughters Karen Groves and Henry Clark of Clifton Forge, Pauline Rowan and husband Carl of Glen Wilton, Debra Groves of Covington, and Michelle Thompson and husband Michael of Clifton Forge, also, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Maxine Agnor Williams, 90, of Covington died after a brief illness on December 4, 2020 in Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem. Mrs. Williams was born April 9, 1930 in Augusta County Virginia, the daughter of the late Alfred Boyd Agnor and Susie Viola Smith Agnor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Anna Katherine Meeks, Cornelia Lowman, Emily Saul, and Evelyn Scruggs. She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Roy E (Eddie) Williams, Sr; two sons Roy E Williams, Jr. of Redford, Michigan and Boyd A Williams of Ashburn, Virginia; three grandchildren Cheri Morgan (Chris), Kaitlyn Rzucidlo (Jeff), and Parker Williams (Nick); four great-grandchildren Aiden Morgan, Kolton Adams, Karter Adams, and Oliver Starr; and a number of nieces and nephews. Marrietta Bowles Sizemore, 87, of 2022 S. Stewart Ave., died, Monday November 30, 2020, at her residence. Mrs. Sizemore was born February 9, 1933, in Layland, WV, a daughter of the late Columbus and Luscinda Jinks Bowles. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband R.C. Sizemore, a son Rodney Sizemore, and two granddaughters, Heather Arritt and Candice Paxton. Marrietta was a retired bookkeeper with the Bailey Lumber Co. and a salesperson with Tri-County Furniture. She was a member of the Covington Bible Church. She was a long time Sunday School teacher of the children and loved shopping, sending cards, making picture books and her flowers. She cherished her family dearly. Bobby "Willie" Gene Smith, 88, of 130 Wills Ave., died, Friday, November 27, 2020 at Lewis Gale Alleghany Hospital in Low Moor. Mr. Smith was born September 4, 1932 in Alleghany County a son of the late Armond French Smith and Virginia Wilhelm Smith McNeely. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Lair Smith, a son Robert "Snuffy" Smith, two brothers Ronnie Smith and Donnie McNeely. Bobby served in the United States Navy on the USS Hornet during the Korean War. He was a conductor for over 40 years with Amtrak and was a member of Good News Christian Fellowship. He was also a member of the Clifton Forge Elks Lodge #1065, the Covington Moose Lodge #610, the Curtis A. Smith Post 1033 Veterans of Foreign Wars, and was an avid golfer, loved bowling, and enjoyed cooking for his family. Karen Sue Kincaid, 60, of Hot Springs, went home be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at her residence. Bath County has always been home to Karen. She was most recently employed by Valley Super Market where she was able to share her love of cooking. Karen had a big heart filled with love and was known for her witty attitude and strong personality. It was the simple things in life that brought Karen joy; she loved spending time at home with her dog, Bridgette, while watching a good movie. Karen enjoyed the outdoors and would spend many summers camping, or nights sitting by a bonfire with her friends and family, who meant everything to her. She is preceded in death by her mother, Helen J. Shaffier. Ann Mays Pullen, 81, of 1203 Iroquois Place, died, Saturday November 21, 2020 at Lewis Gale Montgomery Hospital in Blacksburg. Mrs. Pullen was born April 16, 1939 in Covington a daughter of the late Melvin L. and Bettie Weaver Mays. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James Pullen and a sister Joyce L. Mays in 2004. Ann was a secretary at Westvaco for 40 years. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church and a former member of Covington Baptist Church. Surviving are a stepdaughter Maria Quarta of Chester, a sister Betty Lewis of Kissimmee, FL, two nephews Andrew Lewis of MD and Kevin Lewis of FL, and a loving devoted caretaker and friend Sue Wolfe and husband June of Covington. Raymond Carter “Jim” Tucker, Sr., 90, of 600 Montgomery Knob Road died Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at his home. Mr. Tucker was born September 9, 1930, in Alleghany County a son of the late Robert Lee and Myrtle Tingler Tucker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert “Baldy” Tucker, Sr, a grandson Kenny Tucker and a daughter-in-law, Marie Tucker, seven brothers and three sisters. Glenna Preast Kincaid, 97, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at The Woodlands Nursing Home in Clifton Forge, VA. She was born August 22, 1923, in Nicholas County, WV. A daughter of the late George and Virgie Rogers Preast. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter C. Kincaid in 2008, and her siblings, Nellie Ferrell, Norma Jean Ragayli, Ernest Preast, Clyde Preast, Emil Preast, and Haymond Preast. Mrs. Kincaid was a Homemaker and loving mother known for her homemade biscuits, pound cakes, fried apple pies, fudge, and her hand-cut french fries she would make for family and friends. She babysat for over 100 children in her lifetime who she nurtured and cared for as if they were her own. Glenna was of Christian faith, a member of The First Church of the Nazarene in Covington, VA, and was always known for helping others in need.
