William Samuel "Sammy" Miller, 68, of Hot Springs died, May 14, 2022, at his residence, surrounded by his family and close friends. He was the husband of Patricia R. Miller.Sammy was born on April 3, 1954, the son of the late George Lewis Miller and the late Nellie Burns Miller. He attended Covington High School and was an employee of Hercules before he went to work at The Homestead, where he retired after 38 years of service. Sammy was an avid bear hunter.In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Raymond Miller of Hot Springs, and his daughter, Cara (Clay) Fravel of Spotswood; his grand dog Xena, two sisters Nancy Magaddino and Liz (Larry) Lawhorn of Virginia Beach; one brother, Tim (Debbie) Miller of Rich Patch; several nieces to include Terry (Mike) Perry of Hot Springs and Beth (Jay) Woodson of Covington, great nieces and nephews, and a special family friend, Betty Botkin of Hot Springs. A funeral service will be conducted on Sunday May 15, 2022, at 6:00 PM at Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with Jay Woodson officiating and assisted by Rev. Doug Hollenbeck. Interment will be at Union Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service on Sunday at Arritt Funeral Home.Pallbearers will be Gabe Miller, Tim Miller, Bubby Forbes, Sam Forbes, Ryan Forbes, Gene McElwee, Timmy Hiner and Frances Thomas. The family suggests memorial donation in Mr. Millers name to be made to a cancer fund of your choice or Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church at 1200 N. Alleghany Ave. Covington, VA 24426.
