Marvin Lewis Hooker, Sr., 86, of 531 Bird Farm Rd., died, Tuesday November 16, 2021, at the Brian Center in Low Moor. Mr. Hooker was born March 15, 1935, in Hot Springs, a son of the late Herbert Lee and Rosa Landrum Hooker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Celia Kimberlin Hooker in 2008 and three brothers. He served his country in the United States Navy and was a carpet installer for Alleghany Tile and Carpet and for Don's Floor Service. He was an avid bowler, fisherman, enjoyed old westerns and the Washington Redskins and was involved in CB Radios a long time ago. In keeping with his wishes his body has been cremated. Surviving are two daughters Sharon Rose and husband George of Covington, Tammy Reid and husband Michael of Clifton Forge; two sons Allen Kimberlin and wife Suzanne of Hickory, NC and Marvin Hooker Jr. and wife Belinda Suffolk, six grandchildren Lora Jones, Lisa Smith and husband Johnny, Jessie Gannon and husband Matt, Sarah Rose, Jacob Catlett, and Jessica Atkins; five great grandchildren Violet Gannon, Faith Jones, Angel Jones, Gracin Dixon, and Loralei Smith; his aide Trevor Nicely, and a number of nieces and nephews. A service will be held at a later date. The interment will be at Lone Star Cemetery. The funeral arrangements are being handled by Arritt Funeral Home.
