Billy Joe Phillips, 50, of 1016 Hattie St., died, on October 10, 2022, at his residence. Mr. Phillips was born on November 14, 1971, in Covington a son of the late Billy and Judy Graham Phillips. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandmother who raised him Ruby Graham and a brother Ellis Phillips. He was a roofer for Phillips Roofing as well as for other companies. He had attended Covington Baptist Church and did survival stuff with Maegan; he was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed watching NASCAR with his good friend who has passed away Gary Goode. Surviving are his wife Julie Haynes Phillips of Covington; four children Joseph Phillips of PA, Jeremiah Phillips of Charleston, WV, Josh (Tori) Trentine of Dayton, and his baby girl Maegan (Mark) Cox all of Dayton, OH; one grandson his pride and joy Colton Trentine; two sisters Evelyn (Dale) Bratton and Cindy (Dale Simmons) Phillips; two brothers Calvin Phillips and Matthew Phillips; and a number of nieces and nephews. In keeping with his wishes his body has been cremated. A celebration of life service will be held on Friday October 14, 2022, from 10:00AM until 12:00PM at Covington Baptist Church with Pastor Brad Armes presiding. The funeral arrangements are being handled by Arritt Funeral Home.
