Joseph Daniel "Danny" Ryder 61, of 301 Wager Lane, died, Monday January 25, 2021 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Mr. Ryder was born February 3, 1959 in Bath County a son of Nancy Beverage Ryder of Hot Springs and the late Joseph "Joe" Ryder. Danny worked in the Maintenance Department at WestRock. He was attending Faith Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to boat. He was a member of the Wagon Wheel and Warm Springs Mountain Hunting Clubs. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He never met a stranger and to say you knew him was to say you loved him. In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife of 30 years Margie May Ryder of Covington, a daughter Caitlen Bailey and husband Brad of Sinks Grove, WV, a son Caileb Ryder and wife Sierra of Hot Springs, two grandchildren Amos Bailey of Sinks Grove, WV and Raegan Ryder of Hot Springs, a sister Melinda Nichols of Hot Springs, nieces and nephews Holly Wilson and husband Cody of Lynchburg, Chris Nichols, and Faith Nichols both of Hot Springs, a special friend and father in law Billy May and his loyal dog Sadie Mae. In keeping with the current Covid-19 pandemic guidelines; you are asked to wear a mask and practice social distancing at all times while attending the service. Visitors are encouraged to stop by the funeral home prior to the service to view/sign the book. A graveside service will be held Monday February 1, 2021 at 2:00 PM in Alleghany Memorial Park with the Rev. Billy Price officiating.
