Winston Lee Posey, Sr., 91, of 4211 Dunlap Creek Rd., died Friday evening July 11, 2008 at his residence. He was born January 14, 1917 in Alleghany County, a son the late George and Ella Brown Posey. Mr. Posey served during World War II with the United States Army and later with the United States Navy. Mr. Posey retired in 1979 as a carpenter from Bull Dog Construction Company. He was preceded in death by his wife, Harriett Ramey Posey in 1996 a also by a sister. Surviving are his daughter, Cynthia Jones and her husband, Brent of Covington; five son, Winston Posey, Jr.; Nathan J. Posey and his wife Patricia and Donald W. Posey and his wife Christy, all of Covington; Steven B. Posey and his wife Marlene of Chester and Ronald L. Posey and his wife, Yvone of West Virginia; 14 grandchildren; nine grant grandchildren and one great great grandchild. The funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday morning from the graveside at Palestine Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating. The family will receive their friends Tuesday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 PM at the Arritt Funeral Home.
