Bernard Reed Bowling 80, of 3008 Valley Ridge Road, passed away Sunday,, January 10. 2021, at Stone Spring Hospital in Dulles, Va. Mr. Bowling was January 13, 1940, in Alleghany Count son of late Jesse Reed Bowling and Ella Johnson Bowling. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, John Martin, Jr., Gerald Bowling and James Bowling and one sister, Barbara Bowling Jett. Bernard served in United States Army, and had retired from Hercules Inc. He was avid hunter and golfer and loved being around his friends, but health issues had kept him from that for quite a few years. Surviving are his Wife, Joy Sheppard Bowling, of Covington; a Son, Jesse A. Bowling, of Millboro; a grandson, Brody Fox, of Covington, and a Brother, Aubrey Bowling and his wife Pat, of Covington, and several nieces and nephews. In keeping with his wishes his body has been cremated. A private service will at later date at Alleghany Memorial Park.
