Zora Nadine Bailey Tucker, 89, of 600 Montgomery Knob Road, died Sunday, December 31, 2023 at the Brian Center in Low Moor.

Mrs. Tucker was born December 1, 1934, in Alleghany County, a daughter of the late Lacy Lewis and Nora Persinger Bailey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Raymond Carter “Jim” Tucker; a son, Robert “Baldy” Tucker, Sr.; a grandson, Kenny Tucker; two daughters-in-law, Marie Tucker and Diann Tucker; four brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Tucker retired from Halmode Apparel in 1993 after over 20 years as a seamstress. She was a longtime member and pillar of the Mountain Valley United Methodist Church. She enjoyed raising miniature horses, sewing, and spending time with family.

Surviving is one son, Raymond C. Tucker, Jr. of Covington; three daughters and sons-in-law, Rose “Boo” and Randy Selleck, Helen “Sister” and Charlie Selleck, and Becky and Ray Richardson, all of Covington; two brothers, Ernie Bailey ad Jim Bailey, both of Covington; four sisters, Alice Depriest, Eldis Gilbert, Mary Austin, and Sue Menefee, all of Covington; 14 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Shane Hiner officiating. The family will receive their friends on Wednesday evening from 6 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Internment will be made in the Tucker Family Cemetery on Montgomery Knob Road.

Pallbearers will be Austin Tucker, Robert “Ball” Tucker, Jr., Kristen Tucker, Cadence Bland, Montana Selleck, Tanner Synder, Mason Bartley, and Kolby Anderson.
