Mrs. Audrey Elizabeth Mack, 96 years old, earned her wings as she transitioned peacefully at her residence, 1169 S. Lincoln Avenue, Covington, Virginia, on Friday, May 12, 2023 with her son by her bedside. She was born on December 18, 1926 in Richmond, Virginia to the late Ms. Virginia Hayes.

Mrs. Mack was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Mr. Lawrence Mack, her son Roland Switzerland Mack, Sr., her daughter Mrs. Marjorie Dethenia Brown and her granddaughter Ms. Shante Mack.

Mrs. Mack was baptized at an early age at Pine Street Baptist Church where she was an active member until her death. She loved singing in the Senior Choir and the Combined Choirs, she was a member of the Loyal Daughters Ministry and participated in other auxiliaries in the church.

She received her education at the former Watson High School. Doing her early years she worked as a domestic worker in Covington.

As described by her son, Mrs. Mack was a unique, petite lady that loved everyone and was respected by friends, neighbors, and especially her family. She will be remembered for her wonderful bright smiling face. Every pastor that came to know her adored her kind spirit.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Pine Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Thomas Harper officiating.

The family will receive their friends from noon until service time at the church.

Mrs. Mack was a dedicated, loving, caring mother and friend. She leaves to cherish her memories her son; Eric Fredric Mack, seven grandchildren, Aric Mack (Renee), Roland Mack, Jr., Shatory Brown, Shaquon Brown, Kathleen Tedford, Latoya Frizell, and Marcus Jordan; many great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great-nephews, cousins; two devoted cousins, Lester Jeter and Cheryl Hayes Lewis; special friends, Mrs. Betty Quarles Carter, Deaconess Helen Holloway, Deaconess Macelia Hunter and the late Mrs. Peggy Hughes
