Charles Allen White, 73, of Covington, passed away Monday May 30, 2022, at Johnston-Willis Hospital in Richmond. Mr. White was born on January 11, 1949, in Alleghany County, a son of the late Stewart and Tassie White. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Robert White and Fianc Linda Crawley. Surviving are his sister Macelia Hunter and husband Raymond of Covington; two brothers Stewart "Stu" White of Lexington, and Alec "Shot" White of Lewisburg, WV; a stepbrother Juan "Tony" Miller of Covington; a son Kodell White and wife Cathy of Clifton Forge; two daughters Tamara Kumalo of Covington and Rosalyn Crawley of Salem; five grandchildren: Kimani, Kamaria, Imani, Zakeia, and Laila. In keeping with his wishes his body has been cremated. Mr. White was honorably discharged from the United States Army. He was a former employee of Grand Piano and furnishings in the seventies. Known to his buddies at the mill as "Charlie". He was a dedicated hard worker before he retired from Westvaco. A member of Pine Street Baptist Church. Charles loved being "Pops" and taking the little ones to McDonalds. He loved loud semitrucks and was a collector. Mr. White was an avid hunter and outdoorsman throughout the years. The funeral service will be held on June 11, 2022, at 12:00 PM in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Pastor Stephanie Clark officiating. The interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The funeral arrangements are being handled by Arritt Funeral Home.
