Robert Eugene Miller, 85, of 407 Winding Way in Covington, died Monday, October 3, 2022 at LewisGale-Alleghany Hospital in Low Moor. Mr. Miller was born in Covington on May 1, 1937, a son of the late James W. and Bonnie Baker Miller. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Virgie Smith Miller; a son, Ronnie Eugene Sorrells; a step-daughter, Barbara Harmon; a sister, Hallie Miller Dressler; and three brothers, Harry Miller, Earl Miller, and Gerald Miller. Robert worked for many years at AET in the film department. He attended Faith Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Dreama Jones Miller; one daughter, Sandra Oyler (Dale), both of Covington; a step-daughter, Shannon (Greg) Newkirk of Atlanta, GA; three granddaughters, Kelly (R.J.) Oyler Helmintoller of Covington, Stacy (Bryan) Oyler Holbrook of Mount Holly, NC, and Emily Oyler (Logan Holley) of Charlottesville; a step-granddaughter, Taylor Hammons of Memphis, TN; one great-granddaughter, Addison Rian Helmintoller of Covington; a brother, Freddie (Carol) Miller of Hurricane, WV; a sister-in-law, Shirley Miller of Georgia; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at 2:00 PM in chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Price officiating assisted by Pastor Andy Belanger.
