ALLEN HUMPHRIES Richard Allen Humphries, Sr. 42, of Crowder Hollow Rd., died., Friday, July 13, 2012 at his residence. He was born July 28, 1969 in Alleghany County, a son of Regina Bush Hinkle of Covington and the late Marvin V. Humphries. Allen was a former employee of Chapman Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning , Inc. He was an avid outdoorsman. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by twin infant son, Kenneth Russell Humphries and Kasey Allen Humphries in 1995 and also by his paternal grandparents, Russell and Melinda Humphries. Survivors include his mother; his wife, Theresa Harmon Humphries of Covington; his son, Richard A. Humphries, Jr. of Covington; his daughter, Tiffany Humphries of Low Moor; three step sons, Shane Byer, Justin Paxton and Kyle Paxton, all of Covington; two grandchildren; two brothers, Ray and Sissy Humphries and Wendell Hinkle, all of Covington; two sisters, Gale and Jeff Rose and Angie Hinkle , all of Covington; his maternal grandparents, Ray and Frances Bush of Covington; a special friend , Sharon Arthur of Covington and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday , July 18, 2012 in the Arritt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Donald Earwood officiating. The interment will follow in the Persinger Memorial Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Harry Smith, Jeff Rose, Ronnie Roberts, Jeff Humphries, Alex Lavillett and Josh Harmon. Alternates will Joey Harmon and Daniel Harmon. The family will receive their friends Tuesday evening from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM at the Arritt Funeral Home.
