Wayne Allen Wright, Sr., 83, of Bedford and formerly of Covington, died Sunday, January 14, 2024.

He was born January 17, 1940, in Alleghany County, a son of the late Edwin F. and Etta Fridley Wright.

Wayne served his country in the United States Air Force. He retired from General Electric in Salem and was a member of VFW Post 2157 in Bedford.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty Alfred Wright; a son, Wayne Wright, Jr. and his wife, Deborah, of Vinton; one daughter, Tressa Webb of Pulaski; four grandchildren, Dexter Wright, Michael (Sherry) Orange, Jr., Samantha Orange, and Sarah (Greg) Justis; three great-grandchildren, Camden Orange, Carlee Orange, and Kaidence Justis.

A graveside funeral service will be held Friday, January 19, 2024 at 1:00 PM in Alleghany Memorial Park in Low Moor. The family will receive their friends from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Arritt Funeral Home.
